Ava was moderate in size and type, with excellent structure and movement and lovely expression. From 3 weeks on, she showed her sparkling attitude, and throughout her life made friends wherever she went. She was a registered therapy dog and worked with autistic children. She was also a juniors dog for my niece Rachel Hubshman. Ava loved herding sheep. She earned her Herding Started title with Reserve High in Trial at the ABTC 1999 National Specialty. At 12, Ava was still herding and doing open field work! She remained healthy and vigorous right up until age 14 1/2, and only declined in her last few weeks. Many people besides myself were special friends to Ava, including Frank Tipping Jr., Rickey Marks, and Sharon Johnson. I am especially grateful to Donna and Tony Lyczkowski who helped me care for and cherish Ava during her last months. Ava was very happy when she left us and I like to think she is still sparkling away in the night sky. Ava produced two wonderful litters -- the Montage Jazz Litter and the Montage Hot Litter. Visit Ava's P-BAR page. She has many descendents to continue down the line. |
